COOKEVILLE (WATE) – A Meigs County man has been charged in the death of a woman from Sweetwater.

Gary Wayne Ford, 57, is charged with one count of second degree murder and is being held on $100,000 bond in the Meigs County Jail.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says Meigs County officials found the body of Coleen Francis Turner, 51, at a home on Lefew Road in Ten Mile on April 10. TBI agents then developed information that Ford was the suspect.

A Meigs County grand jury returned an indictment against Ford on Monday. He was then arrested without incident.
