KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Bearden Bulldogs managed just one win in 2014, but it may have come at the perfect time.
In Bearden’s first season under head coach Morgan Shinlever, the Bulldogs went 1-9. They’re only win came in the last week of the season, a 34-14 victory over William Blount.
“Last year was a learning situation” says Shinlever. “It was also something that had to take place in order for us to build the program the way we want it.”
Bearden offensive lineman Wes Goltry knows it’s a work in progress.
“We really got to get a new mindset and pick things back up,” he said. “Currently, we’re getting there. We’re not all the way, but we’re on the right track.”
That track will meet its first crossroad on August 21 when the Bulldogs visit Karns.
