NEWPORT (WATE) – A notable Cocke County attorney was arrested Saturday at the Popcorn Sutton Memorial Jam.

Charlotte Anne Leibrock, 35, of Newport was arrested Saturday night at the Cocke County Fairgrounds and charged with public intoxication, possession of a handgun while under the influence, unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon and resisting arrest/disorderly conduct.

Cocke County Sheriff’s Department said they responded to the fairground after a security personnel said a woman ran onto the stage and caused a disturbance. The security personnel said as they were going to arrest Leibrock she said she wanted to make an announcement, ran on stage, grabbed a microphone and said “Soleman Sutton.” The officer than escorted her off stage and to the front gate.

Deputies said Leibrock had an odor of alcohol, was unsteady on her feet and had slurred speech. After she was taken into custody a deputy noted the butt of a revolver sticking out of her right front pants pocket. The revolver was loaded and dispatch confirmed her handgun permit expired August 4, 2014.
