Replacement blood drive scheduled for Knox County boy battling rare cancer

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A replacement blood drive is being held next month for Ethan Parsley, an 11-year-old Knox County boy battling a rare bone cancer.

The blood drive will be from 3 to 7 p.m. at MaxAir Trampoline Park, 229 E. Emory Road in Powell, on Friday, August 7. All blood types are needed. donors will receive a free MEDIC T-shirt, a coupon for a free Texas Roadhouse appetizer and a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A sandwich.

What started out as a football injury in his left knee at the end of October, turned into a cancer diagnosis for Ethan Parsley. On December 1, doctors not only diagnosed him with a rare form of bone cancer called Metastatic Ewing Sarcoma, but they also found 11 tumors.
