Knoxville group takes in dogs rescued from Mississippi breeding operation

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A local rescue group has taken in dogs that were seized from a Mississippi breeding operation.

In the rescue nicknamed “Operation Mississippi Blues,” 75 dogs, 24 cats, 21 horses and eight donkeys were taken from a breeder in Union County, Mississippi.

Three female golden retrievers were taken in Adopt a Golden Knoxville and are being kept at West Knoxville boarding facility Pets R People 2. Officials say the dogs are physically in rough shape, but are being taken care of.

AGK is asking the public for donations to help cover the medical care of these dogs. People can make donations online at http://www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org or they can mail a check to PO Box 11822, Knoxville, TN 37939.
