Scott Walker accidentally tweets his campaign announcement

WASHINGTON (AP) — How excited is Scott Walker about running for president?

So excited that he announced it accidentally on Twitter three days early.

Wisconsin’s Republican governor posted and soon deleted a message on his verified Twitter account Friday evening with the messages “Scott Walker is running for president. Join the team” and “Scott is in. Are you? Join our team today.”

It’s no secret that Walker will enter the 2016 presidential race in Wisconsin on Monday afternoon. Yet before Friday, he hadn’t formally declared it himself.

Walker campaign representatives didn’t respond to phone calls or emails seeking comment.

He is set to become the 15th Republican presidential candidate after he re-confirms his intentions Monday.
