REDDING, Calif. (AP) – The search for a missing baby in Northern California is in its fifth day.
Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko said Monday that searchers are still trying to find 6-month-old Ember Skye Graham of the community of Happy Valley.
The Record Searchlight reports Monday that the focus is on the baby’s father, Matthew Ryan Graham, who’s in jail on an unrelated probation violation.
Police say Matthew Graham became a person of interest in his daughter’s disappearance after giving inconsistent statements to investigators.
He reported the baby missing Thursday morning, saying he last saw her in her crib Wednesday night.
The infant’s mother, Jamie Graham, says she’s focused on finding the girl and has seen no evidence her husband did anything wrong.
About 60 people searched Sunday, with rough terrain, smoldering heat and wildlife plaguing their efforts.
