LOUDON (WATE) – A golf tournament, in memory of a local cancer victim, is being held in Loudon County in September.
The 14th annual Kim Rowden Memorial Golf Tournament is being held at The National, located at 700 Old Club Road in Loudon.
Kim Roden died at the age of 28; three years after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
The tournament, presented by the Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center, will be on Sept. 28.
The Kim Rowden Memorial Fund is set up to help women who don’t have health insurance at all, or have health insurance, with such a high deductible, that they can’t afford the cost of breast health care.
The fund will pay for screening and diagnostic mammograms, and, if it’s necessary, will also help the cost of further testing like a biopsy.
If you would like more information about playing in the tournament, or just becoming a sponsor, you can visit the Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center’s website.
