No injuries reported after man drives truck though guardrail in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – No injuries were reported when a man’s truck overturned and fell down an embankment on Thursday morning.

The Knoxville Fire Department was called to Chapman Highway at Dick Ford Lane around 6 a.m. to an overturned box truck from Beverage Control.

The driver, who was in route to Gatlinburg was able to get out of the truck unharmed, according to officials.

He told fire fighters the truck suddenly started pulling to the right and he went through a guardrail.

The crash caused a gas leak. KFD’s Hazardous Material Unit worked to clean up 50 gallons of diesel fuel which spilled from the trucks saddle tanks.

Crews pulled the car from the embankment, temporarily closing Chapman Highway for about a hour.
