Grainger County man faces charges after robbing, making bomb threat at Knoxville gas station

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Grainger County man was arrested after allegedly robbing and making a bomb threat at an east Knox County store on Sunday afternoon.

According to deputies, 28-year-old Richard Parrott left the Shell gas station on the 200 block of Andrew Johnson Highway with an unknown amount of cash.

He entered the store around 2 p.m. and made a bomb threat before leaving the business with the cash.

Witnesses helped deputies catch Parrott after seeing him leave the area.

Authorities said no bomb was found.

Parrott was charged with robbery and is being held on a $5,000 bond
