KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A man faces charges after being arrested in connection to a string of armed robberies in Knoxville Saturday night.

Timothy Kelly, 41, was located by Knoxville police officers after robbing the Taco Bell and Wendy’s on Strawberry Plains Pike around midnight.

Employees of the fast food restaurants told officers a white male robbed them at gunpoint. They were able to provide a description of Kelly’s vehicle as he left the scene.

Officers said the suspect was traveling on Interstate 40 near the Sevierville exit and stopped the vehicle after a brief foot chase.

Authorities said Kelly may be on parole in Davidson County. Investigators with the Knoxville Police Department are interviewing victims from both businesses and following up with Kelly’s status with Davidson County.
