KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville man was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was shot at a Knoxville motel on Monday night.
According to a preliminary investigation by the Knoxville Police Department, a man entered a room at the Budget Inn on Lovell Road and asked 54-year-old Eric Kingsley if he had any pills.
Police say the suspect demanded Kingsley’s wallet. When he refused, the suspect pulled a handgun and shot Kingsley once in the chest.
He transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with what police say are non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses describe the suspect as a young, thin male with dark skin and short dreadlocks. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a light blue T-shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes.
