KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A new app can keep you up to date on road conditions, traffic routes and special offers from local merchants as the Knoxville Cumberland Avenue Corridor project continues.
The CumberlandConnect app is available for both Android and Apple devices and was created by Vaughn & Melton, the construction engineering inspections contractor on the project. Those who download the app can get regular updates, contact information for questions and coupons from Cumberland Avenue merchants.
Apps for other devices, such as Blackberry, Windows and Kindle, will be available at the end of May.
The Cumberland Avenue Corridor project will take place in two phases. Phase I, already underway covering Alcoa Highway to 22nd Street, is set to be completed by the end of 2015. Phase II, from 22nd Street to just east of 17th Street, is scheduled for completion in August 27.
