Motorcyclist dies from injuries after crash with vehicle in Knoxville

A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital early on Tuesday morning for life-threatening injuries after a crash on Kingston Pike.

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A motorcyclist was transported to the hospital, where he later died from injuries, after a crash with a van on Monday night.

According to the initial investigation by the Knoxville Police Department, 29-year-old Christoper Brill was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center after his motorcycle crashed with a van around 8:15 p.m.

The driver of the van, identified by police as 36-year-old Jayeskumar Patel of Illinois, made an improper turn into a parking lot located at 8512 Kingston Pike causing critical injuries to Brill.

Brill was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the crash, according to police.

Knoxville police reconstruction team were called to investigate the wreck due to the seriousness of Brill’s injuries.

Charges for Patel are pending.
