KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A free outdoor event this Saturday features giveaways and lots of activities designed to get kids active and healthy.
The fourth annual Knoxville Let’s Move! event is Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Victor Ashe Park, 4901 Bradshaw Road. More than 90 nutrition and activity stations will be set up to help families eat healthier and move more.
A map will be provided to help families navigate the stations, which will include water games, recipe demonstrations, seed planting, healthy food choice sampling and other sports and games. There will also be a stage where groups will give demonstrations.
The event is part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s national campaign to fight childhood obesity. Knoxville and Knox County received national recognition in 2013 for their collaborative efforts to improve the health of Knoxville area youngsters.
