KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Thousands of people gathered at Neyland stadium today to eat, tailgate and watch the orange and white spring game.
There’s no other experience like it if you ask Jake Olvey, a senior at University of Tennessee.
“Tailgating here is the #1 tailgate in the country,” said Olvey.
Olvey loves it so much, he’s visited many tents, Olvey is ready for another football season.
“The people here in Knoxville, we love football, we love sports and the crazy thing is everybody here is so passionate about UT football,” said Olvey.
Olvey’s friend Remington gets to enjoy a birthday while supporting the orange and white. He’s been a fan his whole life.
“I’ve finally gotten a spring game on my birthday and it’s literally this is the greatest day of my life,” said Remington.
A birthday Remington will always remember.
“Go Vols, it’s all about the U, it’s all about the T, It’s all about the University of Tennessee,” said Remington.
After tailgating Olvey and Remington watched the orange team defeat the white team 54 to 44. The Volunteers will officially open up the 2015 season on September 5th in Nashville against Bowling Green.
