KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville man is being charges after a woman he knew on Sunday night.
Ronnie Wyrick,45, is charged with one count of aggravated robbery and his being held on a $25,000 bond.
The Knoxville Police Department says they received several calls saying a woman was running on Washington Pike, near Nadine Street, screaming that she had been stabbed.
When they arrived at 1981 Washington Pike, officers found the victim, 29-year-old Hazel Stinnett, with a small stab wound to her right breast.
She told officials Wyrick tried to rob and stab her after giving her a ride. According to police Stinett frequently received rides from Wyrick.
Wyrick vehicle was later found by police in an abandoned parking lot on Cedar lane. He was located in a home on Delapp Drive where he was taken into custody without incident.
The Stinett was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for what police say are non-life threatening injuries.
