KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The Knox County School Board will hold a special meeting on Monday to vote on budget proposal.
Superintendent Dr. Jim McIntyre’s proposed budget sites at $441.5 million. In this proposal, McIntyre calls for a three percent raise for teachers and a bonus if they’re qualified.
He also recommends a new middle school be build in the Hardin Valley community. Fourteen acres available on the campus, if passed, will house about 1,200 students.

Many parents of parents wanted a new middle school for the Gibbs area, but McIntyre rejected the idea saying he didn’t see a need for such a facility.
