KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Fanatic Brewing Company, LLC, a Knoxville based craft-brewery, received two awards at the Tennessee Championship of Beers on Saturday.
Fanatic Brewery won a bronze medal for Fanatic Pale Ale and “Best in Show” award for Tennessee Blonde® Ale.
The Tennessee Championship of Beers is apart of Tri-Cities Craft Beer Week, the state’s first and largest commercial brewery medal event.
Similar to the Great American Beer Festival, judging at the Tennessee Championship of Beers follows the style guidelines of the Beer Judge Certification Program.
Each beer is judged in a “blind” format, in which judges are presented the beer without knowing the identity of the brewer, and score it according to current BJCP style guidelines
“We have had such a great response from our initial releases and the judges affirmation that we are working in the right direction is icing on the cake,” said Fanatic’s Brewmaster Marty Velas.
The brewery is located in a warehouse at 2727 North Central Street in Knoxville.
Fanatic Brewing released its first year-round product, Tennessee Blonde® Ale, and its first limited-production product, Calibration Ale, on March 6, and released its second year-round product, Fanatic Pale Ale, on April 10.
