KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists at the University of Tennessee are asking for the public’s helps.
The student group is organizing the UT Health Science Center second annual Knoxville “Parscription” Golf Tournament to raise money to continue serving the community for the coming year.
Service activities include: blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes screenings; medication awareness days; asthma awareness education for public school children; CPR certification programs; promotion of the pharmacy profession of pharmacy to high school students; poison prevention programs to elementary schools students and free immunizations to residents at homeless shelters.
The tournament will be held at Green Meadown Country Club on April 20.
Pre-tournament activities and range balls will be available from noon to 1 p.m. and the shotgun will occur at 1 p.m.
A cookout and awards presentation will he held after the tournament.
For the past 19 years, the “Parscription” tournament is held in Memphis, Tennessee. The local chapter of APhA-ASP hopes to allow local businesses, alumni and residents in the area to contribute to the success.
