KNOXVILLE (WATE) – The City of Knoxville is working to figure out how to be more bicycle friendly.
City leaders presented the finalized bicycle facilities plan Wednesday night at a public meeting at the East Tennessee History Center.
Bicyclists identified roads last year where they think improved riding conditions would create better connections for bicycle transportation within 80 miles. The plan is to design a better network with greenways and bike lanes.
The city has recently incorporated bicycle lanes as a standard part of Streetscape work and as a consideration when roads are redesigned or resurfaced.
