Sevierville kidnapping suspects arrested in Fla., Knoxville

SEVIERVILLE (WATE) – The Sevierville Police Department says a man wanted for kidnapping, robbing and forcing a man to touch himself has been arrested in Florida. His female companion was arrested Thursday in Knoxville.

Lawrence H. Bond, 53, and Amanda Lynn Wells, 28, were each wanted for aggravated robbery and especially aggravated kidnapping. Bond was also wanted for aggravated sexual battery.

Police say Bond was arrested Wednesday by the Brevard County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office after a pursuit. Sevierville and Brevard County detectives spent most of Wednesday sharing information and intelligence about Bond and his location.

Brevard County officers found Bond in a drug store parking lot in Mims, Florida. When they tried to arrested him, he fled on a motorcycle. Patrol and aviation units arrested him after a lengthy pursuit. He is currently being held in in the Brevard County detention center on warrants out of Sevierville. Brevard County officials will have additional charges.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the extradition process.

Wells was arrested Thursday afternoon around 2:05 p.m. in West Knoxville by the U.S. Marshal Service and members of the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Fugitive Task Force.

Bond and Wells are accused of kidnapping a 26-year-old man in March in an attempt to steal money from him. They say Bond held a gun to the victim’s head and threatened to kill the victim. Bond also allegedly forced the victim to touch himself.
