FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A woman who was dining at a Franklin restaurant bit into an oyster and found 51 pearls.
It happened Thursday at Puckett’s Boat House on East Main Street.
Toni Elliott was having lunch when she was shocked to discover pearl after pearl inside her meal of fried oysters.

“The manager of the restaurant came over and said, ‘I hear you got a pearl in your oyster.’ I said, ‘Well I’m up to ten so far,’” Elliott said.
The final tally was 51 tiny pearls, which all came from the same oyster. Finding one pearl isn’t that uncommon; however, finding that many is very rare.
The server, Eric Horton, grabbed a container and started collecting the pearls.
“I’m one of the longer tenured people here, so having seen that, being a part of that is pretty cool,” Horton told News 2.
Elliott doesn’t know how much the pearls are worth, if anything, but she plans to keep them as a souvenir.
She’ll probably eat her oysters a little slower next time, to make sure she doesn’t chip a tooth on more pearls.
