KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Valley Grove Baptist Church in South Knoxville used a helicopter Saturday for their annual Easter egg hunt.
Nearly fourteen thousand eggs dropped from the sky.
“This is the first time we’ve ever done this,” said Keith Vaughan, an organizer with the church. “We normally have just a regular Easter egg hunt and have maybe 100, 200 kids that show up. And today that was remarkable. Better than I even imagined.”
The church estimates that almost two thousand kids collected eggs Saturday.
They got the idea from a church in Chattanooga and hope to make this a new tradition.
