‘Give a Kid a Ticket’ program to reward Knox County students’ behavior with Smokies tickets

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Some Knox County students spotted displaying positive behavior during the school day will be rewarded with free tickets to a Tennessee Smokies game.

The program, called Give a Kid a Ticket, is an effort to reinforce positive behavior in schools.

When a child is seen doing things like wearing a safety helmet while bicycling, obeying instructions from crosswalk guards, homework milestones and more, school security officers can issue “tickets” to Smokies games. Only a limited number will be available, making the reward special.

WATE 6 On Your Side is one of several sponsors of the program.
