NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Metro Council passed an ordinance Tuesday night that amends the current zoning for the area where a Nashville Christian school sits, essentially blocking a swingers club from moving nearby.
The Social Club recently purchased property on Lentz Drive right across from Goodpasture Christian School, sparking a controversy within the community.
The zoning on Lentz Drive is considered “Office General,” also known as “OG,” which permits private clubs.
Four council members proposed an ordinance in late January that would amend those zoning laws, which passed Tuesday night.
The amendment specifically prohibits clubs in OG-zoned areas.
Larry Roberts, attorney for The Social Club, told News 2 in early February he planned to sue if the ordinance passed.
There is no word if he plans to proceed with those plans.
