Bell County, Ky. magistrate arrested on drug charges

PINEVILLE (WATE) – A Bell County, Kentucky magistrate was arrested Tuesday at the pawn shop he owns after a seven month investigation into the illegal sale of narcotics.

Ricky Goodin, 50 was charged with a number of drug trafficking counts and a theft charge.

The Kentucky State Police say multiple types of narcotics were being sold at County Gun & Pawn Shop in the Fourmile community. While there, officers seized guns and over $5,000 in cash.

Goodin was taken to the Bell County Detention Center. The Cumberland River Drug Task Force assisted in the investigation.

Goodin is still a magistrate as officials say there is a lengthy judicial process to remove him from office unless he resigns.
