HENRYVILLE, Ind. (AP/WATE) – A charter bus en route to Smyrna, Tennessee, carrying members of Indiana Tech bowling team was involved in a rollover crash Thursday morning on Interstate 65 in Indiana, north of Louisville.
WHAS-11 reported multiple injuries and said medical helicopters had been called to the scene.
According to Indiana Tech’s website, the bus was on its way to Smyrna for the USBC Sectional Competition when the crash occurred.
Scottie Maples of the Clark County Sheriff’s Department tells WDRB-TV the accident occurred Thursday morning on southbound I-65 just north of Henryville, Indiana.
Maples says there are reports of “multiple injuries” in the accident. The extent of the injuries wasn’t immediately known Thursday.
A Clark County sheriff’s office dispatcher says a total of six medical choppers have been called to the scene, about 20 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky. Indiana State Police Trooper Mary Sanchez tells the News and Tribune that ground ambulances also were on the scene.
