SURGOINSVILLE (WJHL) – Hawkins County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man after he dropped two syringes in a local convenience store, according to arrest reports.
A deputy was in the parking lot of Dot & Rick’s Convenience Store in Surgoinsville and noticed a man, later identified as Timothy Gardner, 30, walk through the front door. A few minutes later someone came to the deputy’s car to complain about that same man going to the back of the store and dropping two syringes in plain view.
The deputy went inside the store and notice two needles laying in a Dr. Enuf drink container, one with the cap off and needle exposed. The deputy reviewed the camera footage and saw Gardner, placing the needles in the Dr. Enuf.
Later that night, the same deputy was able to locate Gardner who said he went into the store looking for “tampons, but they did not have any.” Gardner continued to say that the pants he was wearing and the needles he was carrying were not his.
Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gardner and charged him with felony reckless endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia.
