GREENEVILLE (WJHL) – Recent winter weather has taken its toll on many communities and services in our area, including the Greene County Wood Ministry.
We first introduced you to the group a few months ago, every Saturday they chop and deliver firewood to hundreds of families in need across Greene County.
Right now, organizers tell us they only have a week’s worth of firewood left.
They say in the last month, the numbers of deliveries have dramatically increased with the below freezing temperatures. Since the beginning of the season in October, they estimate 875 loads of firewood have been delivered.
If you would like to help donate, the firewood must come from within Greene County because of forestry laws.
