Substance found in Sevier County Courthouse tests negative for biological agents

SEVIERVILLE (WATE) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation says a substance delivered to the Sevier County Courthouse last week has tested negative for a biological agent.

Six district attorney’s office employees were taken to the hospital as a precaution last Wednesday after someone opened a letter containing the substance.

The offices affected by the incident have now been cleared to reopen.
