CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) – With more winter weather approaching, some residents in southeastern Tennessee are stocking up on liquor as well as milk and bread.
Customers at Riverside Wine & Spirits in Chattanooga told WRCB-TV that they came in Tuesday to get alcohol before more snow and ice hit the region. The National Weather Service says another 6 inches of snow could fall in the region by Thursday morning.

Carol Sampson said she and her husband drove from Sewanee to stock up before the system hits.
Jamie Campbell, who works at Riverside Wine & Spirits, said customers also were stocking up last Friday before a snowstorm hit. Even though the store closed early due to the weather, Campbell said sales were still about $5,000 more than on a normal Friday night.
