Man found dead in Campbell County woods, weather believed to be the cause

JACKSBORO (WATE) – The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office says weather conditions likely played a significant role in the death of a man whose body was found Sunday afternoon by hunters in a wooded area.

Investigators believe Kenneth M. Mozingo, 32, became stranded several miles off the main roadway in the Tackett Creek area after his vehicle became stuck or broke down.

Preliminary reports indicate exposure to the extreme weather was the cause of death, but an autopsy is scheduled to be performed Monday afternoon at the UT Forensics Center to determine the exact cause of death.
