Monday funeral services were held for brother and sister Tyler and Sarah Rolen.
Their mother, Tonya Rolen, said the two children were just eighteen months apart, good kids, the best of friends, loved volunteering and brought joy to everyone that they met.
“They’re gone, life will never be the same. I just hope and pray that in this tragedy that these young kids really just learn from this that vehicles are not toys,” said Tonya Rolen.
Tonya Rolen said even though their family’s hearts are hurting they are trying to celebrate the two siblings.
“Sarah and Tyler were more than brother and sister, they were the best of friends, to everybody,” said April Jenkin, Tyler and Sarah’s aunt.
Family said their faith is helping the family pull through grief. They are asking for prayers for every single one of the families in the crash.
Sarah and Tyler both went to school at Gatlinburg-Pittman High School.
The principle said students were given the chance to sign two large banners as a final goodbye to their friends. Proceeds and donations will also be collected at a school basketball game Thursday night to be given to families involved in the crash.
Tuesday, family of Joshua Lewis-Jones will receive friends at Achley’s Seymour Chapel from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The funeral will follow at 7:00 p.m.
