Man arrested for two armed robberies in Knox County

KNOX COUNTY (WATE) – The suspect in two armed robberies in Knox County is in jail.

Knox County Deputies say James Harrison Davis, 31, entered the Breadbox on Tazewell Pike around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say Davis was armed with a gun and demanded cash from the store clerk, and fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash and a carton of cigarettes.

The second robbery happened just before 10:00 p.m. at the Texas Valley Mini Mart on Maynardville Highway.

Deputies say Davis entered the store, forced his way behind the counter, and threatened the clerk with a gun.

Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Narcotics, Special Investigations, and Major Crime Units saw Davis running from the business.

Davis was arrested after a short pursuit.

He is facing federal Hobbs Act charges in connection to robberies in Knoxville and Union County.

Deputies say Davis has a criminal history that includes theft.
