KNOXVILLE (WATE) – It was a celebration of talent at the Greater Warner Tabernacle AME Zion Church Saturday afternoon.
It is the sixth year for the “Knoxville Opera Goes to Church… A Celebration of Talent!” The event featured gospel music as well as the works from two 19th century operas: “Tosca” by Puccini and “Carmen” by Bizet.
The event was free to attend and is apart of one of 85 annual education and outreach programs by the Knoxville Opera. It is the only opera that also has its own gospel choir.
6 On Your Side Anchor Tearsa Smith introduced the concert.
