Police say their goal is to prevent medications from entering area water resources or into the hands of children and to make sure they are disposed safely in an environmentally-friendly manner.
Organizers will accept residential and household medications as well as those from businesses, such as doctor’s offices, veterinarian clinics and nursing homes.
If you can’t attend the Healthy Living Expo, Knoxville Police say old medicines can be brought by the Knoxville Police Department, located at 800 Howard Baker Jr. Avenue. A secure collection container is located near the information desk.
