NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Testimony in the rape trial of two former Vanderbilt football players shows panic set in over text messages that included videos of the alleged sexual assault.
Two California men testified Wednesday that they received the text messages containing video footage from friend Brandon Vandenburg in June 2013.
Miles Finley told jurors he didn’t know at the time that the alleged rape was ongoing as he was receiving the graphic videos.
Both Finley and Joseph Quinzio were friends of Vandenburg’s who received the texts.
Both testified that Vandenburg later came to California, took their phones and unsuccessfully tried to wipe the contents from one of their laptops.
Vandenburg and Cory Batey are being tried for rape and have pleaded not guilty. They are accused in the rape of an unconscious student.
