It all moved through early evening dumping snow in some of the northern counties, surprising some and giving many kids a snow day tomorrow.

Maynardville got about an inch of snow coating the ground.
It was not a lot, but it fell quickly. It was enough for some kids to get a little playtime in before the sun went down.
“He got off the school bus. I looked outside and was like wow it snowed!” said resident Danielle Ellison.
They jumped at the chance to take advantage of it, hopping on sleds and sliding down the hillside.
Others were glad to see it, and also glad it did not cause any major issues on the roads.
“We’re used to it up in Union County. I mean everybody’s used to being on the roads when it snows. You ain’t got four wheel drive you just don’t get out,” said resident Jennifer McLaughlin.
However, some of the side roads got a little slippery, giving kids hope for a break from school.
Union County and several others school districts are closed on Friday.
“They usually do even if it’s just a little bit because the back roads get so bad up here,” said McLaughlin.
While most of the main roads in the area remained clear, motorists were urged to be careful overnight and early Friday as more slick spots could develop.
