Knoxville police investigating downtown car break-ins

Two of the victims say the break-ins happened in the overnight hours Tuesday morning on the Gay Street viaduct.

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knoxville police are investigating a rash of car break-ins near downtown.

Two of the victims say the break-ins happened in the overnight hours Tuesday morning on the Gay Street viaduct.

A WATE 6 On Your Side crew found four cars that had smashed windows.

Police say perfume worth $500 was taken from one car. From another car, $1 and a broken GPS were taken.

A bullet was stolen from a third car, while nothing was taken from the fourth.

So far there is no word on any possible suspects.
