SEVIERVILLE (WATE) – A suspect was arrested in connection with a Sevierville bank robbery and five armed robberies in Knoxville and Knox County.
SSA Marshall Stone with the Knoxville FBI says Russell Lee Finley, 47, was arrested at 5:00 p.m. Monday in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Sevier County Bank, located at 720 Dolly Parton Parkway in Sevierville, was robbed at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Monday. Bank employees told officers a man handed a teller a note demanded money.

On January 3, the Dollar General Store on Rutledge Pike and Family Dollar on Asheville Highway were robbed. The Dollar General stores on Asheville Highway and Broadway and the Family Dollar on Andrew Johnson Highway were also robbed on January 4.

Federal charges are being sought for the five Knoxville and Knox County robberies according to Knoxville Police Department.
On Tuesday Finley is expected to appear in the United States District Court in Knoxville.
Stone says the quick arrest was a result of a joint investigation by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, which is composed of the Knoxville FBI, Knoxville Police Department, Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Sevierville Police Department.
