Presidential visit, cold weather lead to Anderson County school schedule changes

CLINTON (WATE) – The arrival of President Obama and cold weather predicted for later this week have led to several schedule changes for Anderson County Schools.

Buses will run two hours late on Thursday, January 8 due to the extreme cold weather. Temperatures are predicted to be in the single digits the preceding night. Schools will open at their regular times, so parents who drive their children to school can still do so at the normal time.

On Friday, because many Anderson County roads will be closed during the visit of President Obama and the Bidens, Anderson County elementary schools, Lake City Middle School, Norris Middle School and Norwood Middle School will dismiss at noon.

Students at the high schools and Clinton Middle School will dismiss at 1 p.m. Friday.

Preschool, Head Start and Early Head Start dismiss at 11 a.m. Friday. There will be no Afterschool Program that day.
