KNOXVILLE (WATE) – President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden are scheduled to visit Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville Friday to discuss new college education initiatives.

According to White House officials, the president will talk about new programs he wants to propose to help Americans go to college.

Pellissippi State officials say it will be a ticketed event and information on how to obtain tickets will soon be posted to the college’s website.

Afterward, all three will travel to Techmer PM in Clinton to discuss the administration’s efforts to create new good-paying manufacturing jobs.

The president’s Knoxville visit will end a three-day travel blitz that officials describe as a sort of preemptive State of the Union. The president plans to visit Detroit on Wednesday and Phoenix on Thursday.
