KNOXVILLE (WATE) – With the cold weather in the days ahead, you should think about your vehicle and making sure it’s ready to go.

“You want to check the strength of the battery to see if it is weak or not. You want to check the cable ends and make sure they are not corroded,” Fisher said.

Under the hood, he says to look at your serpentine belt. Look to see if there are cracks on it, or it needs to be changed out.

Fill your fluids – antifreeze, oil, and windshield wiper fluid. Wipers are also extremely important.

“Check your wipers for wear. Because it definitely hampers visibility,” he added.

Lastly, he suggests checking your tire pressure as well as the tread on your tires.
