KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Delta Dental of Tennessee presented a check for $250,000 to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital on Tuesday.
The money will be used to upgrade facilities and equipment for providing dental procedures to pediatric patients and allow Children’s Hospital to designate a dental care area in its new surgery center.
The surgery center is currently under construction as part of a $75 million expansion. Currently, dental patients are taken into a general operating area for surgery.
“We have about 3,000 cases that we do every year in our operating rooms taking care of kids with really poor dental conditions. This money allows us to build dental suites and provide the equipment and services these kids desperately needs,” said Keith Goodwin, ETCH President.
The hospital continues to raise funds for their expansion.
