KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Three people were found shot in the Fort Sanders neighborhood Tuesday night. Police believe the three knew each other and that one of them was the shooter.
Officers say they responded to a shots fired call at 215 13th Street, Apt. 20 around 8:11 p.m. When they arrived, they found Aundre Buford, 21, and Macee Peterkin, 21, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Both were taken to UT Medical Center.
Another gunshot victim, Brandon Middlebrook, 25, was found on 21st Street near Highland Avenue. He was also taken to UT Medical Center.
All three were expected to survive.
Police were able to obtain a search warrant for the 13th Street apartment based on evidence recovered from the scene and information developed during the investigation.
The Knoxville Police Department Repeat Offender Squad discovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and various items from weapons.
Middlebrook is believed to be the shooter. When he is released from UT Medical Center, he will be charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, one count of aggravated robbery and one count of possession of a firearm during commission of a dangerous felony. Bond will be $1,015,000.
Middlebrook has a criminal history that includes charges of aggravated rape, aggravated burglary, theft, aggravated assault, vandalism and attempted robbery.
Investigators plan to interview the victims Wednesday to determine if there are any other suspects. They are also working to determine if either victim is a student at UT.
Charges related to items discovered at the apartment are pending.
